The terroir of La Martinette is considered to be one of the most favourable terroirs for produce excellent red wines. Vine parcels intended for the elaboration of red undergo a specific and very attentive care.
All the grapes are picked by hand and sorted twice before vatting to ensure a harvest of impeccable quality. Maceration is carried out in a truncated concrete tank. During this period, the extraction is done gently by means of manual pumping over and punching down. The devatting takes place after a post-fermentation maceration phase. The wines are then aged in 500L French oak barrels for 12 months before being blended.
A deep red color. A nose of red fruits (redcurrant, raspberry) marked by spicy notes. A very Rhodanian style, the Syrah is distinguished by its peppery and slightly smoky flavors. A bloody side (game, leather) brings complexity to this wine. A beautiful concentration and an excellent balance in mouth marked by spicy notes like tonka bean. A nice mineral tension
with a fine and elegant tannic structure. The long and refreshing finish is enhanced by mentholated flavors. This wine stands out for its capacity to age.
Perfectly balanced, this wine can be enjoyed with a beef bourguignon, a lamb tagine with prunes, a piece of veal grilled with vine shoots and thyme or an oxtail.
